Jane’s Reflections

Jane (not her real name) was an Atheist but is now a Christian.  I had the opportunity to interview her for a project I’m working on and I have to say that I was a bit shocked at some of the things she shared.  Since I have known her since she was born, I feel rather close to her, but I was bothered by not knowing about some events that took place in her life.

Jane went to a Christian church with her family as a child.  As a teenager, she encountered difficult situations which caused a change of heart.  She told me, “I didn’t believe that there was ever a God.”  At that point, she called herself an Atheist and continued that way for several years.  It was only when traumatic events occurred that she began to question her choice.  She had a strong yearning to return to church and now that she has been attending services for at least a year, she hasn’t regretted that decision.

What Would Make You Go From Atheist to Christian?

Think about this for a minute.  If you are an Atheist, what turn of events would have to happen for you to become a Christian?  Would it happen overnight?  Would it happen over a few days, weeks, months, or years?

A New Choice

Before today I had no idea there was a symbol for Atheism.  When we think of Christianity, we think of crosses and Jesus.  This is the story of one woman’s choice to change her religion.
